Should I buy a small gold bar every month, or use Digital Gold and Silver?

Both do the same job, which is putting a fixed amount into gold on a regular schedule. A small bar each month gives you metal in your hands, and Digital Gold and Silver gives you grams in an account that we store for you.

A small bar each month

Each month you buy a bar or coin, pay for it, and collect it or have it delivered. It is yours to keep wherever you like. The smallest pieces cost more above spot for each gram than a larger bar, because the cost of making and handling a bar is spread over fewer grams. You also look after the storage yourself.

Digital Gold and Silver is our savings program. Costs and the smallest top-up are shown on the page once you sign in.

Digital Gold and Silver

You buy a balance in grams of gold or silver. Every gram is backed by the 100-gram bars we hold in stock in Singapore, and the balance is yours. You top up in set amounts. You can swap your grams for a bar from our stock, or sell them back to us at our bid price, the same buy-back price we pay for a bar.

What it costs is shown on our savings page, so we do not print it here. Read it there before you start.

Which suits you

If you like holding metal and have somewhere safe to keep it, a bar each month does that. If you would rather not store anything and want to add small amounts, Digital Gold and Silver does that, and you can swap grams for a bar whenever you want one. Some people use both.

This page compares two ways of buying from us. It is not advice on what to buy or when.
