A flash deal is a pre-owned gold jewellery piece we bought in, sold at a fixed price per gram for a limited time. We set the end date for each piece, and when the sale ends the piece comes off the shop.

What a flash deal is

We buy gold jewellery from customers. Some of the pieces we buy in, we sell on rather than melt down, and we list them as flash deals. A flash deal is a pre-owned piece sold at a fixed price per gram for a limited time. We set the end date for each piece.

How a piece is priced

Each piece has a price per gram, worked out on the weight of the whole piece, and the price of the piece is that figure times its weight. The karat of the piece sets the per-gram figure, and the price stays the same until the sale ends. We set the figures piece by piece, so there is no fixed list on this page. The live figures are on the deals page and on each piece.

Why a pre-owned piece can cost less than a new one

A new piece from a retail jeweller carries the cost of design, brand and shop. We price a pre-owned piece by its weight in gold, so those costs are not added on top. That often leaves it cheaper than a new piece, but it is not guaranteed, so compare the per-gram figure with what you are asked elsewhere.

What to check before you buy

The karat stamp or hallmark on the piece, and that it matches the karat on the page.
The weight. It is the weight of the whole piece, so any stones or non-gold parts are part of it.
The photos, for wear, repairs and the clasp.
The sale end date, so you know how long the price holds.

What happens when the sale ends

When the sale ends, the piece comes off the shop and can no longer be ordered. We do not promise that it will come back, or at what price. If you want it, order it while the sale is running.

How long does a flash deal last?

There is no fixed length. We set an end date for each piece, and it is shown on the piece and on the deals page.

Is the price per gram the same for every piece?

No. It depends on the karat and on the piece, and we set it ourselves. The figure for each piece is shown live on the deals page.

Are the pieces tested?

Pieces we buy in are weighed and tested on an XRF machine when they come to us.

Can I come back for a piece after its sale ends?

Not on the deals page. Once a sale ends the piece comes off the shop, and we do not promise that it will return or at what price.

Where can I see what is on sale?
