Yes. We value the bar you bring at our buy-in price, where we have a matching line for it, and you put that value towards any LBMA bar at the shop price. Send us a photo first and we will tell you whether we have a buy-in line for your bar.
What LBMA Good Delivery means when you resell
The London Bullion Market Association keeps a list of refiners whose gold and silver bars meet its Good Delivery standard. A bar from a listed refiner is accepted almost anywhere without argument. A bar from a refiner that is not on the list can still be real, gold and honest, but fewer buyers will take it, and some will pay less or ask for it to be assayed first.
That is the reason to upgrade. You are not changing the gold. You are changing it into a form that is easier to sell later.
Our upgrade page shows what your bar is worth towards an LBMA bar, using today's figures.
Upgrade to an LBMA barHow to check whether your bar is LBMA
Look at the refiner's name stamped on the bar, and the weight and purity beside it. Then there are two ways to check. The quickest is to take a photo of the bar, front and back, and send it to us on WhatsApp. We will tell you what we can see.
You can also check the refiner yourself on the LBMA gold current list for gold bars. Read 23 October 2026.
Silver bars have their own list: the LBMA silver current list. Read 23 October 2026.
A refiner's name on the list is a good sign, not a guarantee, because bars can be copied. If you have any doubt, we weigh and test the bar in front of you before anything is priced.
How the trade-in is priced
We value what you bring at our buy-in price, then take that off the price of the LBMA bar you choose, at the shop price. You pay or receive the difference. We confirm at the counter whether we have a buy-in line for your bar, so send us a photo first. If we do not have a matching line, we will say so before you decide.
Any LBMA bar can be the one you buy, from any refiner we stock and in any size. The figures move with the market, so they are live on the upgrade page and not repeated here.
